The beginning

From Ruchi Pappadam to global shelves

Whether it is a grand festive Sadya or a simple everyday lunch, a meal is never complete for a Malayali without a crispy papadam. Recognising that deep-rooted love for authenticity, we stepped into food products in 2018 from a small kitchen in Thiruvananthapuram, launching the trusted, high-quality Ruchi Pappadam.

The overwhelming response gave us the confidence for our next step: traditional cut-mango pickles made with raw mangoes, sun-ripened chillies and cold-pressed gingelly oil.

What began with a single packet of papadam and a jar of pickle has grown into a range of over 100+ premium products. Our scale is now global, but the founding rule is untouched: if it wouldn't go on our own family's plate, it doesn't go into a Ruchi pack or jar. That commitment has carried the flavours of Thiruvananthapuram all the way to shelves across the UK.

How we make it

Four steps, no shortcuts

Pick at peak

Raw mangoes, fresh chillies and whole spices, bought in season and used the same week.

Sun & salt

Pickles are salted and rested for days, not hours, so the flavour sets the slow way.

Stone-ground

Spices are ground in small lots to keep the oils, the colour and the aroma intact.

Packed fresh

We pack the week we ship, seal it clean, and never stretch shelf life with shortcuts.
